HuaHin is a famous beach resort town for travellers in Thailand, in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, some 200 km south of Bangkok. It has a population of 84,883 in an area of 911 km², and is one of eight districts (Amphoe) of the Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Following the international trend for Spa resorts in Hua hin in 1920's, Hua Hin became a popular travel destination for The Royal Family of Thailand, The rich people of bangkok, and foreign travellers. Since 2000 however, the resort has seen a sharp increase in interest from both overseas investors and retirees from the major Thai cities.
